Architecture on your Bike - sun 25th Aug - £24

Architecture on your Bike - From Smithson to SOM 10.30am
Researcher & Historian James Hulme will lead this cycle tour taking in some of the key landmark buildings and places in the transformation of the East End during a century and more of seismic change that continues today. This tour takes in important works by mid century architects including Erno Goldfinger, Alison & Peter Smithson, Denys Lasdun and more recent additions by modern practices such as Norman Foster and Skidmore Owings & Merrell. Spanning 20th Century idealism and 21st Century commercialism, reconstruction and regeneration, the tour takes a candid look at both successes and failures during the area's post-industrial upheaval.
